"For the past 16 years I have been in charge of the medals, awards and T-Shirt design for the Naples Daily News Half Marathon. This race is held in Naples Florida each January. This year, 2009, our race director George Dondanville suggested we try a new vendor that could supply us with spinning medals. Each year I try to raise the level of our race and come up with something different for all runners. Each runner that completes our race receives a medal. Each year we try to make the medal, t-shirt and awards compliment each other. ashworth awards made this possible and raised the bar to a new level. We started with the Pelican design used each year. My idea was a newspaper front page with the spinning pelican as the main picture. After talking to Daniel Ashworth on the phone, about my idea, he sent me a sample design. With only a few minor changes the medal design was completed. A printed ribbon was also added for the first time this year. Two things that I think made this medal the best ever: the pelican is complete with color on both sides, and the white background on the newspaper. After
this the awards were easy to come up with. I suggested we take the medal design up to 4 inches tall with a extra 1/2 inch to insert into a base. Again the base was large and complimented the award. The medals and awards were shipped on schedule. Overall I would rate ashworth awards very high as to quality, fair pricing and quick response to all our requests."
